This tip is designed for increased BROADBAND speed in Windows XP while using standard Network Interface cards (NIC) that are connected to ADSL modems, or when using any directly-connected USB ADSL modem. To speed up the Internet connection speed we need to configure a special buffer in the computer's memory in order to enable it to better deal with interrupts made from the NIC or the USB modem. This tip is only recommended if you have 256MB RAM or higher. Step #1 - Identify the IRQ used by the NIC/USB modem 1. Open the System Information tool by running MSINFO3 2.EXE from the Run command.2. Expand System Summary > Hardware Resources > IRQs. 3. Look for the listing made for your NIC (in my case - a Intel® PRO/100+ Management Adapter). Note the IRQ next to the specified line (in my case - IRQ21). In case of USB modems you will first need to find the right USB device used by your modem. Follow these steps: 1. Track the IP address of the sender... This will open ur scrap book and keep refreshing every 2 minutes: Open a Command Prompt window and leave it open........

Every windows user would have encountered this message. Yes and its "recommended that you continue". However the time delay of 10 seconds is what irritates me. By making a small tweak in the registry, we can change the time delay. Start registry from Run----> regedit. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager . Don't expand the Session Manager tree. On the right pane look out for 'AutoChkTimeOut' . If its not there right-click--->New--->Dword value. Rename it as 'AutoChkTimeOut'. Now double click it and give the desired time delay in seconds. [Choose Decimal while giving delay]. Press OK. If the entry is not found, the default count down of 10 seconds will be used. If it is set to 0 second, there will not be any count down. If it is set to more than 3 days (259,200 seconds), the default value will be used. Thats all. Now reboot for the changes to take place. The next time Scan Disk starts, there will be delay of the time you have specified. If you want to confirm it then right-click on any drive ---->properties---->Tools---->Check Now. Tick both and then start. When prompted for check on next system startup click yes. Follow the step:-

Here's the solution Open Run and then type "gpedit.msc". Now goto User Configuration > Administrative templates > Windows Component > Windows Explorer. Click on Windows Explorer you will find the 3rd option on the right side of screen "Removes the Folder Option menu item from the Tools menu" Just check it, if it is not configured then change it to enable by double clicking on it and after applying again set it to not configured. Do you know that you can make your PC shutdown at a time u wish to? Here is the trick!! How To Make A Shutdown Timer! Step 1: Right click on your desktop and choose "New=>shortcuts". Step 2: In the box that says "Type the location of the shortcut", type in "shutdown -s -t 3600" without the quotation marks and click next. Note: 3600 are the amount of seconds before your computer shuts down. So , 60secs*60mins=3600secs. Step 3: Make up a name for the shortcut and you're done. You can change the icon by right clicking=>properities=>change icon=>browse. To abort: To make an abort key to stop the shutdown timer just create another shortcut and make the "location of the shortcut" to " shutdown -a" without the quotes. METHOD 2 Here is another trick to shutdown at a specific time, for example you wish to shutdown at 11:35am. Your client just emailed a Microsoft Word 2007 document ending with a .docx extension but you have no clue about how to open and print the file or convert from docx to .doc and other text formats. RescueTime - This will help you understand how you spend your time on the computer and the Internet. There’s no need for you to enter any data manually as all time tracking is done behind-the-scenes automatically. 13. Ping.fm - This service lets you interact with blogging sites and social networks through SMS, IM clients, desktop apps or the good old-email. Just send a message to ping.fm and your current status will be updated simultaneously across all the different social networks. 14. Meebo – If you have friends using multiple IM clients, you’ll find Meebo pretty useful. This is a web based IM client that lets you connect with friends on Google Talk, Facebook, Yahoo! Animoto – Slideshows are boring so Animoto turns your pictures into very interesting videos (or should I say movie trailers). The name of this Virus is W32.USBWorm and it has Spread from USB/Pendrive. Creates Folders in every folder and in every drive. How to Remove W32.USBWorm * Press Ctrl+Alt+Del. * Go to Process tab * Arrange Process name in Ascending Order by clicking on Image Name. * Now look for services svchost.exe with User Name as System * Right Click it and click End Process. * Click Yes if asks for confirmation. * You may receive one message saying System is shutting down in 60 second, save your all work. * Here you need to open Start menu à Run and then type shutdown –a to terminate System Shutdown. * Now go to C:/Heap41a and press Shift+Del to delete all file. Diskknight.exe or any other files with .exe Extension . If you find any one of the files above , Run the command attrib -h -r -s -a *.* and Hit Enter. Now Delete each File using the following Command del filename ( E.g del autorun.inf ) . That's it .
